Winemaker's Notes

(From 2007 Vintage) The 2007 is a highly touted vintage for good reason. It is fully ripe and concentrated. The wine has very deep ruby red color with aromas of ripe black plums, pomegranate, mineral, spice, and pepper. More Cab-like than past vintages. Flavors match the aromas but with textural chewy tannins in the mid-palate.

This hard-as-nails take on Syrah is the kind of a wine that only a true optimist will embrace. Although it shows glimmers of black pepper and cherries in the nose, it is as dry as dust on the palate and its essential fruit is hidden beneath a blanket of bitter, ten-year tannins.
