(From 2012 Vintage) Vibrant aromas and flavors of red and black berries, black tea, cedar, earth, vanilla, blackberry and cassis, combine with a full mid-palate with considerable, round tannins. Lingering sweet oak notes and dark chocolate add great depth. This wine’s upfront silkiness and roundness make for a delicious selection now and will drink well for 15 - 20 years.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines8% Merlot; 7% Syrah; 2% Petit Verdot. Markedly riper in taste than it is in aroma, this heavy-footed wine steers headlong to glycerin and dried grapes despite its fruity, sweetly oaked nose. Its slightly soft and not-too-tannic construction invites drinking sooner rather than later.
