Dry Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2010 Vintage) The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon displays elegance and nuance that is immediately appealing. The aromatic profile is indicative of the cooler vintage displaying aromas of raspberry, sage, and dried flowers. The palate is well defined with superior tannins that intermingle with black cherry, plum, and cocoa creating a silky mouth feel. After several minutes in the glass, the wine fleshes out providing dimension and depth while maintaining its fresh fruit focus which is wonderfully expressive in this wine. The finish lingers with fine tannins that are elegant and structured.

One of the bottles from our honeymoon. As big and bold as a California cab should be. You can taste the Dry Creek influence in the big blackberry aromas and spicy finish.

There are encouraging hints of cherries and cocoa and glimmers of depth to its clean, but low-keyed aromas, but this bottling is reluctant to show much in the mouth and its limited fruit flavors stall out and are overtaken by nominal tannins. Ripe, but a little too dry at the moment to make for optimistic prognoses, it still earns a least a brief bit of age with hopes that it might emerge from its shell.
