Wine Description

(2003 Vintage) This highly treasured Shiraz takes its name from the vitner's pet Kookaburra bird. The wine has an amazing dark reddish-purple color with added fragrance and flower perfume by the Viognier. Red currant, blueberry, herbs and cedar flavors tail into an incredible finish. In keeping true to their winemaking, d’Arenberg still basket crushes all of their grapes.

(2004 Vintage) This dark purple wine has a very expressive fruit bouquet. On the palate, this medium bodied wine was very balanced and had good plum and blackberry flavors. The finish was extended and dry. Enjoy...

(2006 Vintage) "The 2006 The Laughing Magpie is composed of 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier. Deep crimson/violet in color, it offers up notes of cherry, ginger, black tea, tar, and blueberry. It will benefit from 3-4 years of cellaring and drink well through 2020. D’Arenberg has been owned and operated by the Osborn family since i...

(2006 Vintage) Ruby-red. Seductive red and dark berries on the nose, with deeper soy and dark chocolate notes. Fresh and juicy, with energetic blueberry and cassis flavors, a hint of violet pastille and dusty tannins. Firms up on the finish, taking on notes of licorice and plum preserve. Impressively persistent, sappy and really delicious now.
