Chateau La Tour Carnet Haut-Medoc

Wine Description

(2003 Vintage) Round and velvety with lots of berry and cherry character and toasted oak. Full-bodied, with lovely texture and a medium finish. A tiny bit more on the finish would push it to outstanding. Yummy wine.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(2006 Vintage) 50% Merlot; 40% Cabernet Sauvignon; 7% Cabernet Franc; 3% Petit Verdot. Here is a well-ripened and solidly filled wine that in many ways bridges the gap between the old and new worlds. Its concentrated, plum and black currant themes are framed by sweet oak and glimmers of chocolate are scattered throughout its length. Its ample tannins are buffered by plenty of fruit stuffing, and its exemplary balance guarantees five to ten years of real improvement.
  • International Wine Cellar
(2006 Vintage) Bright ruby-red. Dark berries, sweet cherry, licorice and sexy oak on the vibrant nose. Dense, juicy and light on its feet, with intense, sharply delineated dark berry flavors complemented by oak. Finishes clean and persistent, with suave, palate-dusting tannins and lingering berry fruit. This subtly complex and lively wine is a major outperformer for its appellation.
