(2011 Vintage) Lively, with good lift and floral aromatics followed by a fresh mix of red cherry, black cherry, red currant and black currant. Nice tarry edge creeps in on the finish.
Château Haut-Bages-Libéral (Pauillac) 2003: Good, youthful and fresh fruit on the nose, still with some nutty oak. Ripe and rounded fruit on the palate, and here we have ripe, supple, slightly meaty tannins nicely knitted into the fruit and texture that this wine possesses. A supple mouthfeel, firm fruit and a lovely style.
Their 2003 is especially good, with a rich, dark colour, a pure black fruit nose and attractive, suave fruit with ripe tannins on the palate. This classy wine has an impeccable sense of balance, and would be an excellent choice for medium-term drinking.
