2002 Sebastiani Cherryblock Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine Description

(From 2007 Vintage) This black beauty offers the trademark graphite and blackberry character found in all Cherryblock bottlings. It is deep and expressive with damp earth, spice and "cigar box" oak seasoning. The flavors are concentrated, yet elegant with blackberries, currants, toasty oak and dusty Cabernet notes. Thanks to the soft tannins, it can be enjoyed now, but will develop and improve over the next 7 to 10 years. A harmonious blend of power and elegance, this is by far our most balanced Cherryblock ever.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2007 Vintage) Since its creation, Cherryblock has been our flagship wine at Sebastiani. It is our ultimate interpretation of Sonoma Valley Cabernet based upon more than a century of experience in the region. While the wine continues to be based upon its original old-vine block of estate Cabernet, we now include small amounts of fruit (Cabernet, Merlot, and Malbec) from other Sonoma Valley sites sharing similar climates and soils. Our goal is to create a more complete and compelling wine, a Cabernet that epitomizes the elegance, structure and high-toned aromatics unique to Sonoma Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
