This wine leads with delicate floral aromas of violets, dried herbs, cloves and a hint of gravel, with a distinct Right Bank influence driven by the Cabernet Franc. The palate is rich and concentrated, with chewy Bing cherry, juicy ripe plum, and hints of dark chocolate and sweet orange peel. This is a fleshy, full-bodied wine with substantial tannins. Bright acidity, reminiscent of Bergamot, is a hallmark of the vintage, and balances the rich fruit over a long, pebbly finish.
Wine Spectator"A rich, plush, sophisticated style with great intensity and concentration, offering layers of currant, black cherry, melted chocolate and cedar notes. Shows restraint and nuance on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2006 through 2012. 1,770 cases made."
