(2008 Vintage) The Oracle is an exceptionally balanced, full-bodied red blend made from grapes grown at Stagecoach Vineyard in the eastern hills of Napa Valley. In Greek mythology, the oracle was a source of inspiration and revelation. We hope that you will find the answers to life’s most compelling questions while enjoying The Oracle with friends and family.
Wine & Spirits"Harmonious & balanced from the moment it's first poured, this estate blend of cabernet sauvignon with 11% cabernet franc is most impressive for its length of fresh cherry & violet aromas. They're supported by oak through a long arc of flavor, broadening & gaining intensity & spice over the course of several days. The fruit deepens from cherry to blackberry, the texture sleek & refined. Catch the fresh flavors this winter with roast leg of lamb & rosemary, or let it mature in the cellar through 2...
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines52% Cabernet Sauvignon; 31% Merlot; 17% Cabernet Franc. This wine's combination of grapes and its generously laid on oak gives it a rich, juicy style that is somewhat "sweeter" in cast than the archetypical Napa Cabernet, and there is plenty to like in its mix of ripe, near succulent fruit and creamy, caramelly notes. It is full and on the open, fleshy side in palatefeel, and it gets a bit of grip from underlying tannins but never turns coarse or tough. Use it now or wait a few years.
International Wine CellarGood medium red. Aromatic nose combines cherry, cedar, loam and tobacco, along with a balsamic note. Soft and lush in the mid-palate, with subtle flavors of redcurrant, red plum, loam and tobacco. With moderate stuffing, the finish shows a slight green edge. But I liked this wine's rather Old World restraint.
