2002 Martin Códax Albariño Rías Baixas

Wine Description

(From 2009 Vintage) Has an attractive straw-greenish yellow color, with ripe lemon nuances. Bright and slightly sparkling. Stands out for its special intensity and elegance, its aroma reminiscent of damp, dewy fresh herbs with a perfume of semi-ripe apples. A fine sparkling sensation on the palate, with a complexity of tastes denoting the freshness of vegetation in the valley and the essence of the varietal. Persistent, full-bodied and tasty...a classic.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2013 Vintage) APPEARANCE A bright greenish yellow colour with golden highlights. NOSE A uniquely fruity aroma where the variety is clearly appreciated, highlighting hints of ripe apples, apricots, and peach aromas. PALATE In the mouth, it is rich, mellow and well-balanced. The aftertaste is fully rounded and off dry on the palate with juicy fruit flavours, clean acidity and a long, mineral-dominated finish.
