(From 2011 Vintage) The 2011 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep ruby color. In the glass, the wine exudes aromas of plum, black currants, blackberry, smoke and earth. Soft tannins and bright acidity add a sense of balance and substance to this full-bodied Cabernet. Concentrated flavors of juicy raspberries and black cherries dominate the entry, while refined notes of earth and pepper emerge as the wine unfolds on the palate. The wine leaves lingering hints of cherry on the long and satisfying finish.
The aromatic complexity of this wine is very engaging; blackberry brambles and layers of dark cherry, chocolate and cassis, combine in a way typical of Cabernet Sauvignon in its most pure expression. On the palate, initial softness amplifies into a warm, supple firmness. The flavors in the mouth clearly evoke the aromas found in the nose. While this wine is approachable, balanced and elegant today, it will drink beautifully for up to five years from the vintage date.
