2002 Joseph Phelps le Mistral

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2009 Vintage) Le Mistral is typically comprised of 60 to 70 percent Syrah and Grenache, and Carignane, Alicante Bouschet and Petite Sirah may also contribute to the balance of the blend, depending on the vintage. The grapes are harvested and the wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks, and the blend assembled within six months after the harvest. The final blend is then aged for approximately 16 months in new and older French and American oak barrels, followed by a light filtration and bottling the second summer following the harvest.
