Wine Description

Aroma layers of violets and cloves mingle with hints of mulberry and dark chocolate. Purity of dark fruits and cut plums on the palate are coupled with firm, savory tannins, and show impressive depth and harmony.

    "The stunning 2002 Bishop (100% Shiraz from 40- to 80-year-old vines) was aged 16 months in primarily old American hogsheads (300-500 liter barrels). This is a superb example of Barossa Shiraz, combining power and concentration with a sense of balance and symmetry.     Saturated ruby. Explosive, ripe aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, roasted coffee, fruitcake and cigarbox. Fat, even unctuous, displaying blueberry pie, sweet licorice, kirsch, molasses and subtle oak spices. The tannins are big but covered by fruit on the finish.
