Winemaker's Notes

The 2001 vintage was an amazing start to the new millennium. It was somewhat of a bizarre growing season that finished spectacularly. An early spring, followed by lots of heat in May and June established the canopy early. A cool July and August allowed for slow maturing. Harvest was somewhat early, but there was a long growing season from berry set to harvest. Acid levels and pH's were high as a result of the increased hang-time.
