(2006 Vintage) The 2001 Sbragia Limited Release Chardonnay is like its predecessors - rich, unctuous, full-bodied and balanced. I call it `essence of Chardonnay` because of its incredible concentration and layers of flavors. I think the key to its balance is the wonderful springy acidity that holds everything in place - there`s a lot going on when you taste it but nothing dominates. This is a wine that is so complex and flavorful, you can go back to it after a big, tannic Cabernet Sauvignon!
Wine & Spirits(2006 Vintage) Good pale, bright yellow. Complex aromas of apricot, pineapple, honey, hazelnut, toasted bread and smoky oak. Silky, opulent and open-knit, offering very good volume but also shape and lift. The longest of these chardonnays. The alcohol here is 15.3%, and the texture is in fact quite glyceral. This is a "vineyard and barrel selection," according to winemaker Laurie Hook.
