(2001 Vintage) Italian businessman Antonio Moretti owns 158 acres, located in four separate parcels, in Chianti's Colli Aretini region southeast of Florence. Moretti hired enologist Carlo Ferrini to help craft the flagship red, Oreno, a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Sette Ponti also makes Crognolo, which is Sangiovese with a dollop of Merlot. It's the winery's debut on our Top 100. From Tuscany
Robert Parker(2010 Vintage) The 2010 Sette Ponte is drop dead gorgeous. Tar licorice, incense, plums and graphite jump from the glass in a wine that impresses for it's nuance, delineation and sheer class. The tannins are firm, but also beautifully balanced. Readers should give the 2010 a few years in bottle to come around, but even today, the wine's balance is utterly impeccable. This is a great showing from Sette Ponti. Drink 2017 through 2030.
