Winemaker's Notes

(From 2008 Vintage) This blend presents with deep vibrant hues of attractive reds. Aromas are dominated by cassis and black plum, toasted vanillin oak, hints of crème brulee and notes of espresso. Flavors of blackberry and sweet black cherry combine with toasted barrel maturation, hints of anise and a subtle, dusty sense of terroir. This is a finely textured wine with charming structure and style.

67% Cabernet Sauvignon; 26% Merlot; 4% Petit Verdot; 3% Cabernet Franc. Nicely extracted and fairly complex with scents of vanilla and new leather overlying its very sweet fruit, this one rushes to ripeness once in the mouth, but it does not abandon either its vital fruit or its very rich oak. As with a good many of its similarly rich mates, it gives in to a bit of heat and coarsens as evident tannins rise at the finish. Its richness compensates nicely, however, for those rough edges.

"From a producer that thoroughly understands Napa Bordeaux wines comes this classically proportioned blend, with is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon. It impresses by its balance, elegance and richness. The blackberry and cherry flavors are enriched with oak, leading to a long and satisfying finish. Drink now through 2010."
