(2001 Vintage) The bouquet shows the instant characters of a fine Chardonnay with ripe honeyed melon and fig fruit combined with a background of sweet nutty oak and subtle malolactic fermentation characters. The palate has full bodied soft varietal fruit flavours, with a ripe, creamy mid-palate due to malolactic fermentation. The wine has attractive length, finishing with light toasted oak and crispy acidity. It suits a wide variety of foods including fresh salads, light fish, white meat and seafood dishes.
International Wine Cellar(2007 Vintage) Green-gold. Smoky orange, melon and peach aromas are accompanied by deeper hints of honey and spun sugar. Broad and fleshy, with deep orchard and citrus flavors and a late note of floral honey. This is impressively round and rich for the price, and shows good finishing fruit and persistence. I've had plenty of $50 chardonnays that are less satisfying than this wine.
