  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
Intense, well-ripened aromas of Gala apples and sweet pears are here buttressed by complexing notes of caramel, vanilla, chalk and a dollop of roasted grain. Potent but not heavy, fairly full in body yet balanced and quite rich, it is solidly structured and very long in engaging aftertaste. It certainly has room to grow, and it certainly will last three to six years with ease, but such patience is not in the least required.
