D.R. Stephens Cabernet Sauvignon Moose Valley Vineyard

Wine Details

Wine Description

(2006 Vintage) It’s all primary blackberry and currant fruit, new oak and tannins... There are waves of licorice, mocha and buttered cinnamon toast, with everything vying for supremacy.

(2005 Vintage) This very ripe, very rich and concentrated Cabernet Sauvignon will not appeal to all palates. But, for those who know that the best of such wines also come with plenty of underlying fruit, have depth that most of its competition would die for and go well with savory preparations like Boeuf En Daube, this is a wine of high attractiveness. Its aging curve will not be as long as its more tightly constructed brethren, but half a dozen years in the cellar will do it lots of good.
