(2013 Vintage) Straw color (still in barrel), the nose has lovely aromatic notes of tropical fruit, such as lychee, mango, and pineapple, followed by aromas of quince, toasted almonds and acacia flowers. The palate is round and smooth with a good balance between freshness and fullness. This wine distinguishes itself by a good density and remarkable finesse. The finish is long, with its vivacity and its power. Overall, this vintage is marked by its elegance.
International Wine CellarRating: 93(+?) - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 115, July/August 2004 ($45-$62) Subdued but pure aromas of mirabelle, peach, pear and pineapple; hints at a roasted botrytis ripeness. Then fat and rich in the mouth, with a captivating flavor of roasted peach. Impressively broad and oily but not yet filled in. Very suave, somewhat youthfully understated Barsac, and not at all overly honeyed today or dominated by its oak component. Built to age for a long time...
