Wine Description

(2001 Vintage) Ruby-red. Aromas of roasted plum, tobacco, chocolate and smoky oak. Suave and vinous, with lively acidity giving the wine excellent balance. Not especially powerful but a lovely, classic midweight.

his is a deep red/purple-colored, stylish, sexy concoction of raspberries, graphite, smoke, minerals, and flowers. The complex aromatics are followed by a medium to full-bodied, seamless St.-Julien displaying velvety tannin, medium body, and sweet, concentrated fruit in a stylish, well-constructed, elegant style. The tannin is unobtrusive and well-integrated. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2015. RP

(2006 Vintage) 70% Cabernet Sauvignon; 22% Merlot; 5% Cabernet Franc; 3% Petit Verdot. It is easy to be drawn in by this bottling's complex aromas and nicely layered flavors of currants, cherries and stony soil, and the wine conveys a good sense of richness and depth, but intrusive tannins presently dry out its finish and mandate at least five years of age.
