(2000 Vintage) This wine presents aromas of oak with its distinctive vanilla sweetness, cedar and even a tinge of roasted smokiness. The palate is elegant---round and rich, with hints of ripe cherry. Due to the vintage, this wine will mature beautifully over the next eight to fifteen years, not to diminish how appealingly complex it is now. This wine is comprised of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(2002 Vintage) We like this wine's open and available cherry-like character and we like its sense of frontal richness, but as it tightens and shows a rather narrow and nervy back end, it loosens its grasp on fruit. We are not quite ready to bet on its future, but a few years of age just might turn the trick and allow for the added expansion its full recommendation requires.
Wine Spectator(1999 Vintage) "Smooth, rich and creamy-textured, with beautifully orchestrated currant, mocha, blackberry and plum flavors that are sharply focused, deep and concentrated. Long, complex aftertaste. Best from 2004-2012"
