  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(1998 Vintage) The world drinks more Dom Perignon Brut than any other prestige cuvee Champagne, and while there are those who may find the wine too much of commodity given its wide distribution, its continuing grace and impeccable craftsmanship have earned its place in the vinous hierarchy. Not surprisingly, this vintage is wonderfully refined and just a little less powerful than some others, but such is the label's continuing style. We love its perfect mousse and austere yet complex yeast and citrus character.
