Winemaker's Notes

(From 2007 Vintage) The 2007 is a highly touted vintage for good reason. It is fully ripe and concentrated. The wine has very deep ruby red color with aromas of ripe black plums, pomegranate, mineral, spice, and pepper. More Cab-like than past vintages. Flavors match the aromas but with textural chewy tannins in the mid-palate.

Pleasant but somewhat quiet aromas of raspberries and toast are met in kind by rather low-keyed elements of mildly peppery fruit in the not quite bold flavors of this cleanly made, mid-sized Syrah. Low in tannin and firmed at the end by a trim of acidity, it is a wine with limited upside potential for the future and calls for drinking relatively soon.
