Fisher Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Coach Insignia Napa Valley

Wine Details

Wine Description

The Coach Insignia Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, all grown on Fisher's Estate vineyard in the Napa Valley. The blend is enhanced with additional Merlot from a small vineyard on Sonoma Mountain, and with Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the hills above Oakville.

92-94 Points, Wine Spectator:

"Very impressive youngster. Pure, rich and focused Cabernet, with a complex array of currant, black cherry, plum, coffee, leather and spice. Score range: 92-94 –JL" (Barrel Tasting, 2001)

90 Points, Wine Enthusiast:

"The question about this wine is, will it age? Now it's firm and hard with tannins and acids, and not too pleasant. But you'll find rich, sweet blackberry and cherry fruit on the finish. Then there's the fine balance of tannins, acids and oak. My hunch is, it's a keeper. S.H." (4/1/2004)

Winemaker's Notes

It's flavors of boysenberry, plum and dark chocolate give it a round mid-palate which compliments the wine's intense bouquet of dark fruit followed by a long finish. The wine's structure is gleaned from velvety tannins. It is a tightly focused wine that promises to be a delight in its youth and will have particular beauty as it ages.
