The cool spring of 1999 caused a low berry set for the Cabernet and, therefore a low yield. The Merlot yield was slightly higher, which explains the higher percentage in the blend. We fermented the wine slightly warmer than usual, which deepened the color and berry aroma. The wine is enjoyable now and will age gracefully over the next ten years. Color: Rich red.
