Wine Description

(From 2012 Vintage) Barely a mile wide and three miles long, the Stags Leap District comprises some of the most coveted vineyard land in the world for Cabernet Sauvignon. In our pursuit to produce unique wines of exceptional and world-class quality, we have developed and managed the Chimney Rock Winery estate vineyards into a sustainable standard bearer for Cabernet Sauvignon.

Winemaker's Notes

The cool spring of 1999 caused a low berry set for the Cabernet and, therefore a low yield. The Merlot yield was slightly higher, which explains the higher percentage in the blend. We fermented the wine slightly warmer than usual, which deepened the color and berry aroma. The wine is enjoyable now and will age gracefully over the next ten years. Color: Rich red.
