Wine Description

(2000 Vintage) Sweet wood, clove and cassis aromas introduce the dark, ripe stone and berry fruit flavors. Complex notes of toasty oak and vanilla meld with supple tannins to give this cabernet a long and graceful finish.-Ron Bunnell, Winemaker

(2002 Vintage) The family formula is also evident in this bottling, and, while the obvious tannins are held in check until the very end, the all-too-quiet fruit is similarly played as an extra in the cast and makes but a brief appearance. The wine would serve in a pinch, but there are better choices elsewhere.

(2000 Vintage) 14% Cabernet Franc; 1% Syrah. Tasting all too much like the inexpensive wine that it is, Chateau Ste. Michelle's basic bottling is on the skimpy side with respect to fruit and comes up thin, blunt and a little too dry in the mouth.
