(From 2012 Vintage) Château Potensac Médoc Cru Bourgeois “Perhaps the finest Potensac made since the 1982... an amazing display of sweet black cherry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of earth and spice. Good purity, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, a seamless balance, ripe tannins.
(From 2009 Vintage) Plump, tender texture carries lively fruit flavors of wild cherry, strawberry and cassis in this lively red. Notes of fresh herb and licorice add interest. Modestly structured, with fresh acidity and just enough tannins.
Wine & SpiritsGood medium ruby-red. Slightly medicinal aromas of blueberry, dark chocolate and game, with a liqueur-like exotic quality. Tightly wound and penetrating; in a rather brutal stage today, and not showing the lushness or sweetness of the vintage. Finishes firmly tannic, with a note of licorice.
DecanterRating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Classic cassis/cedar Medoc bouquet, quite dry and restrained. Fine fruit and good elegant wine, shows elegance, depth and finesse. Drink 2-10 years.
