Wine Description

(1999 Vintage) There is less acidity than usual, bringing out even more the wines’ silky character. Deep red-hackberry robe, edged with amber. Nose with intense bouquet, offering balsamic, smoky notes of undergrowth and a slight hint of leather. Hugely-powerful in mouth, with character, warmth and substantial tannins. A long and spiced finish. A superb wine for ageing, it is suited for drinking immediately and for keeping 2 to 5 years or more.

  • International Wine Cellar
(2004 Vintage) Rating: 87-89 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 120, May/June 2005 Full deep ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of deep black fruits and smoky oak. Round, supple and sweet, with generous, pliant flavors of plum and smoke. Lush, easygoing wine, finishing with rich, broad tannins.
