Winemaker's Notes

Deep ruby color, with intense dark cherry, cedar, vanilla and cinnamon aromas. Plum, boysenberry and cherry flavors blend with an earhty center and a velvety texture. Moderate tannins contribute to a fresh and lively finish. Alcohol Level: 14.1%

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2001 Vintage) 13% Merlot; 7% Cabernet Franc; 4% Petit Verdot. While we find no fault with this bottling's very proper varietal themes of cherries, oak and herbs, the one wants for more volume, more range and more overall intensity to be much more than a clean but somewhat hollowed-out wine.
