(2011 Vintage) Berry fruit and dense forest floor. Beautifully fragrant. There is muscularity here but it is intricately woven with an undertone of succulent fruit. Intensity is matched by freshness and a lingering, harmonious finish.
from DCR Assortment case, drank at home 3 Feb 2011 (1st day of cny) based on RP, this is already more than "ready to drink" in 2011 (best to 2013). we opened and decanter it at 5pm and except about a brief 15 min at around 2015, the wine is v tannic and closed.
International Wine Cellar(1995 Vintage) Expressive aromas of cassis, redcurrant, truffle, espresso and spicy oak. Dense, sweet and oaky, with lovely gentle texture and nicely buffered tannins. Stylish rather than powerful, and already displaying a lot of personality. This wine is usually overshadowed by those that follow in this cellar, but it's a lovely Echezeaux.
