Ciacci Piccolomini d'Aragona Sant' Antimo Ateo

Wine Details

Wine Description

The bouquet is intense with vibrant herbal, spicy and fruit-forward notes. Very well structured, full bodied, quite soft and balanced with pronounced tannins. A wine with a great personality and long aftertaste.

(1998 Vintage) "The 1998 Alteo (a blend of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon) is a gloriously ripe, full-bodied, velvety-textured effort with a dark ruby/purple color, plenty of smoky, earthy, blackberry, cherry, and currant fruit, a touch of graphite, decent acidity, and a seamless, opulent, voluptuous finish. This compelling wine is meant to be drunk over the next 10-12 years. "
