Wine Description

(1998 Vintage) Darker in color than most of our Pinots, this wine has a wonderful bouquet of cherries, violets, and cinnamon, with a distinct spicy vanillin aroma from 18 months of aging in French oak barrels. In the mouth, complex and velvety flavors fill the palate. The transition to aftertaste is sweet and lasting.... a wine to savor.

(1998 Vintage) 1998 was a Pinot year, long on growing season and short on crop. An elegant intensity describes this wine. The short yield has resulted in a very limited supply. (2003 Vintage) Well-ripened cherries are teamed up with lightly creamy, vanilla-tinged oak in the pleasant, mid-mass aromas of this generally likeable wine. If somewhat blunted at present by a finishing note of acid-pushed tannin, it conveys reasonable fruit and a nice bit of flesh in the mouth, and it is destined to improve with a few years of further cellaring.

(2007 Vintage) Incredibly well-defined, harmonious aromas redolent of ripe red cherries, sweet strawberries, seductive oak smelling of toast and creme brulee lead to a surprisingly supple, almost velvety texture that would seem to belie the wine's tender years. It is endowed with ample fruit in its deep, rich flavors, and if a touch simple at this writing, the wine has everything in place for further develop -ment and promises to get better and better over the next three to six years with quiet cellaring.
