(2004 Vintage) Shiraz Hanisch Vineyard’s perfume is reminiscent of some of the great Diamond Creek Cabernets of the mid and late-seventies. Scorched earth, creme de cassis, blackberry, licorice, and smoky aromas emerge from this dense purple-colored Shiraz. Opulent, rich, and full-bodied, with more forward fruit than the Heysen cuvee
International Wine Cellar(2004 Vintage) Rating: 94/100 - As reviewed by International Wine Cellar in Issue 91, July/August 2000. Saturated black-ruby. Black fruit aromas complicated by exotic notes of dried orange peel and citrus skin; shows distinctly port-like surmaturite. Very concentrated and thick, with the powerful structure and sheer grip to buffer its great sweetness of fruit. Extraordinarily creamy texture carries through to the explosive finish, which features powerful but ripe tannins and great persistence.
