Wine Description

(1998 Vintage) A cool and sleek Tuscan red, with tarragon and fresh sage aromas, blackberry and cherry undertones. Full-bodied, with a wonderfully silky palate of fine tannins and a long, fruity finish. Very sophisticated and reserved.

Tasted by Vinoevelo on 3/18/2012 & rated 95 points: Decanted for 3 hours before drinking. Deep inky garnet. Very big, serious complex wine. Wonderful nose of fruit, cigar box and spice that you could get lost in for a while. Great balance and wonderful mouthfeel, tannins still not yet fully integrated. More dark fruit and spice with a bit green on the back end. The finish goes on and on. Impeccable balance and great complexity - wonderful wine that is still a baby. I wouldn't touch one for another 3-5 years. (559 views)

(2013 Vintage) Vanilla, toast and smoke notes shade the black cherry and plum aromas, while the spicy oak theme carries over on the palate. Shows fine balance. Best from 2018 through 2029.-B.S.

(2013 Vintage) Amazing graphite and violet aromas with dark fruits. Medium to full body, ultra-velvety tannins and a long and beautiful finish. Formed and tight. I love the fresh ginger underneath it all. A cool profile that’s so approachable with wonderful length. #84 Top 100 of 2016

(2013 Vintage) A blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 38% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 7% Petit Verdot, this opens with aromas of red currant, fragrant purple flower and exotic spice. The currant aroma carries over to the austere palate along with cranberry, chopped herb and French oak. With its backbone of firm acidity and assertive close-grained tannins, it already boasts finesse but will need years to soften and develop. Drink 2021-2028.
