(From 2013 Vintage) This wine delivers everything we are looking for from a great vintage. The color is an inky purple hue and the wine has aromas of black fruits, baking spices, dark chocolate and leather. The palate is rich and complex, full of flavors of berry pie, mocha, cedar, black pepper and vanilla toast. The texture is creamy, round and full with well structured tannins that are approachable now or will cellar well for decades. 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 1% Petite Sirah, aged 18 months in 25% new oak barrels.
Andy Frieden, JJ Buckley February 2011 Medium garnet core with a light magenta rim. The nose is redolent of Left Bank Bordeaux, showcasing aromas of loamy clay soil, violet, and baking spice. Notes of currant and cassis dominate the flavors. along with hints of sweet French oak, dried florals and morels, tapering to a persistent finish. For a wine that has been aging for over a decade, the concentration is impressive. Ready to enjoy now, there is no need to decant this wine, but it is definitely one that would positively sing with meals. Neil Mechanic, JJ Buckley October 2010 Medium garnet hue. Complex and exquisite aromas of dried currant with hints of truffle, cigar box, and crème de cassis. The palate is elegant and refined, centered around a core of red fruit, truffle, minerals, and leather. The tannins are smooth as silk. This is elegance and finesse all the way. Now is the absolute perfect time to enjoy this beauty.
