(From 1998 Vintage) A big, juicy red. Black, with intense aromas of black olives and sage, plus masses of fruit. Full-bodied and very velvety, with a long, long finish.
(From 2004 Vintage) "Shows wonderful aromas of flowers and berries, with hints of vanilla and Indian spices. Full-bodied and powerful, with layers of chewy tannins and a long, flawless finish. Compact and dense, yet racy and refined. Not the perfect 2001, but close. Best after 2013."Wine Spectator98 Points
Tasted by SMagowan on 12/25/2011 & rated 99 points: WOW. This has a near perfect nose balancing fruit, a hint of oak, some fresh tobacco notes, earth and a whisp of menthol. On the tongue it is like a fire that does not scorch but only warms ever so gently until a lasting finish of 30 - 45 seconds caresses your mouth, ears and the back of the head. It tastes of black cheery, light light oak, and soft delicious tannins. A grand experience for a Christmas dinner of prime rib. Bravo! (1087 views)
