Raymond Vineyard & Cellar Cabernet Sauvignon Generations Napa Valley

Wine Details

Winemaker's Notes

Generations Cabernet Sauvignon is the signature red wine of Raymond Vineyard & Cellar. Specially selected and fermented separately in vineyard specific lots, the wine receives 24 months of aging in 60 gallon oak barrels. The resulting wine is deep, intense, and complex from start to finish. Full bodied, it has the potential for long term aging if desired. Pairs beautifully with roasted and grilled beef, pork and lamb, tomato based pastas, blue cheeses, roasted garlic, herbs, and savory dishes.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
Sweet and immediate in scent with suggestions of ripe berries, cherries and cassis combining with elements of sweet oak and a certain root-beer-like spice, this very smooth, well-scrubbed and neatly polished young Cabernet is surprisingly frontal, forward and easy to taste given its tender years. If it is light on the tannin and the kind of austerity that is typical of its varietal, the wine is never short on flavor, and it can be enjoyed without the need of lengthy aging.
