(From 2004 Vintage) Time-honored techniques still prevail here. Grapes are manually harvested and sorted. The wine is fermented in oak vats and aged in Tronçais oak barrels as for the first wine. In general, though, Pavillon Rouge is bottled three to four months earlier than Château Margaux.

Decanter(From 2001 Vintage) Rating: 4/5 - As reviewed by Decanter. Very good colour, lovely nose showing ripe fruit and full, but restrained maturity, tight, well-knit tannins, very elegant and long. Described by Paul Pontallier as 'tres chic'. Very good. (Tasted en primeur)
