(From 1999 Vintage) The aromatics race out of the glass - big and complex. The first swell has a slightly brushy character that includes sweet herbs such as thyme and sage. After that crest, essences of cassis, licorice and mint enter and are followed by hints of smoke, vanilla and graham cracker. In the mouth, the wine is filling and expansive.
