Wine Description

(1997 Vintage) 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot Brilliant ruby colour with cherry aromas and chocolate overtones. It is intensely fruity and complex, yet round, with soft tannins and velvety. The latter part of winter and the beginning of Spring were very mild for the time of year and also very dry. This produced early budding - some 10 days earlier than average.     Tasted by theoves on 5/4/2010 & rated 90 points: Still drinking nicely, but I was a bit nervous. I have one more bottlle and I'll be opening it shortly. I had this with a grilled filet and it was perfect. Still some good fruit left and it's a good, complex wine. But it will be fading pretty soon. (1768 views)
