(2015 Vintage) In 1974, San Francisco lawyer Jess Jackson bought an 80 acre pear and walnut orchard, and replanted it as a vineyard. In 1982, he released a small amount of wine called Kendall Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay. He has gone on to buy more vineyards (a lot more!). He now produces over 2 million cases of this wine, and it is remarkable the quality level that is maintained at that level of production, and that all of the fruit comes from estate vineyards.
Wine Spectator(2015 Vintage) Plush, with loads of richness to the well-honed flavors of beeswax, baked pear and lemon tart. Minerally midpalate, with a fresh and zesty finish that finishes with pastry notes. Drink now through 2020. 100,000 cases made.–KM
