(From 2000 Vintage) Rich, sexy, silky and full in the mouth, with expressive flavors of black raspberry, game, smoke and truffle. Finishes with strong but suave tannins and excellent length.
Explosive, superripe aromas of black raspberry, lead pencil and sweet oak. Velvety-sweet and pungently oaky in the mouth, with a firm supporting spine of acidity giving the wine a vibrant, sappy quality. Finishes very long, with substantial but lush tannins. Potentially the finest vintage yet from this estate.

Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2003 Vintage) This vintage, which may be a little uneven in Pomerol and St. Emilion, is going to rate as very good to excellent in Pauillac as it does in neighboring St. Julien. We taste Chateau Lynch-Bages at 88-90 points and rate its local peers even higher in this vintage with Pontet-Canet jumping out at 89-91 points and Chateau Grand-Puy-Lacoste in the same range.
