(From 2012 Vintage) The 2005 Library Cabernet Sauvignon emanates aromas of crushed blackberries, red plum, cassis and tobacco. This wine is layered with complexity from start to finish.
The 1995 vintage was short in yield and long in hang time, boding well for wine quality. The outcome is a wine with deep dark ruby color packed full of intense flavors consistent with the Cabernet Sauvignon varietal. Aromas of ripe currant and berry are married with hints of toasty coconut and vanilla from two years in small oak cooperage. Our blend of 19.6% Merlot with this Cabernet Sauvignon has added a roundness and complexity with hints of spicy clove and cassis. While well balanced for immediate consumption, this wine can age for several more years.
Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines(From 2005 Vintage) Likeable aromas of ripe cherries, creamy oak and creme de cassis are quickly joined by a faint but evident whiff of angularity, and that edginess reappears in the wine from mid-palate to finish. It might be possible for cellar aging to help the wine overcome its difficulties, but the risks are great.
