1995 Château d'Yquem Sauternes

Wine Description

(From 2008 Vintage) There is a lovely purity to the fruit and clear botrytis concentration, if less than in the great years. Has all the hallmarks of a fine, elegant Yquem. A very polished, well-presented sample.

Winemaker's Notes

Rich, opulent concentrated and full-bodied. Medium gold with a honeyed, oaky, flowery, tropical fruit bouquet, magnificent and unique.

very close to 1996 on initial tasting. on day 2 the full potential and colour comes alive. again standing the ground of the great Sauternes the 1995 first gives off a perfectly balanced nose that all around the table acknowledged as superiority complex and mature and the follow through matches with confidence.

The wine is massive on the palate, with layers of intensely ripe botrytis-tinged, exceptionally sweet fruit. Surprisingly well-integrated acidity, and a seamless, full-b...
