Wine Description

(2012 Vintage) (WS91) Intense, with layers of fig, boysenberry and blackberry fruit pumping along, studded with mouthwatering anise and singed apple wood notes. A bolt of graphite takes over on the finish, with charcoal and chalk details echoing through the finish. A touch burly overall, but should soften with cellaring.

    (2005 Vintage) Long on ripeness and mass, but lacking the integration and finesse of the best bottlings, Chateau Dassault offers up a good bit of frontal plum and sweet-cherry fruitiness and starts out fairly plush on the palate. It is not brutally astringent, but it is truncated by dry tannins, and it will need five or six years for its parts to ease together.

    (2005 Vintage) Good medium red. Very ripe, smoky aromas of black cherry, roasted meat and marzipan: very 2005! Supple, sweet and broad; large-scaled and lush for a wine from this chateau if a tad chunky. Finishes with sweet, dusty tannins and a lingering note of chocolate.
