Smith Woodhouse Vintage Port Portugal

Wine Details

Port Blend

Wine Description

(2003 Vintage) Very dark, opaque. Lifted floral aromas on the nose. Combination of floral notes and "esteva" with spicy peppery undertones. Very powerful and rich with tightly packed layers of ripe berry fruit flavors on the palate which provide a persistent, very long aftertaste, also suggesting hints of dark chocolate.

(1997 Vintage) Medium ruby. Shy aromas of black fruits, licorice and spices. Pliant, moderately sweet and medium-bodied; black cherry-dominated flavors are ripe but not overly so. Rather elegantly styled, with ripe acids and supple tannins giving the wine good vinosity and backbone. Finishes with good length and grip.
