(From 2010 Vintage) This cuvée is a fabulous success in 2010, a nigh-on perfect expression of a fine, balanced vintage. Although this is tremendously elegant and seamless by Bandol's standards, there is still certainly enough stuffing and density to put a hair or two on your chest. It's aromatically refined with teasing scents of bay leaf, crushed black cherry, herby pan juices and a smoky, flinty note. Those notes are revealed with even more generosity on the tender and ripe palate. This is rounder and more pliant in the mouth than recent vintages and the perfumed fruit on the palate meshes into the plush tannins with consummate ease. A layered, intricate Bandol that stylishly brings together the seemingly incomparable elements of southern clout and northern class.
