Château d'Armailhac Pauillac Grand Cru Classé

Wine Description

(From 2009 Vintage) Deliciously fruity, with chocolate notes and acidity. The wine has dense but soft tannins that merge seamlessly into the black fruits. It is ripe, sweet, densely juicy.

Winemaker's Notes

(From 2007 Vintage) Slightly dullish deep red. Aromatic nose offers currant, tobacco leaf and herbs lifted by a peppery quality. Juicy and light on its feet, with brisk acidity and a repeating peppery quality giving precision and energy to the perfumed mid-palate. Very crisp, delineated wine that can be enjoyed soon or held.

  • Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wines
(From 2005 Vintage) Given its vintage and the success of its neighbors, this slightly underfilled offering must be considered as something of disap-pointnment. Narrow and fairly tight-fisted, but never suggesting that it has the fruit that will allow it to blossom with time, it is instead a bit thin and fades away early.
